Common use of Xxxx Leave Cash Conversion Clause in Contracts

Xxxx Leave Cash Conversion. ‌ Upon separation from employment and concurrent assumption of a retiree status in the San Xxxxxxx County Employees Retirement Association each employee on payroll prior to January 28, 1992 shall convert up to fifteen (15%) of accumulated sick leave to cash at the employee’s hourly rate at separation if the employee has more than one hundred and sixty (160) hours of sick leave accumulated as of the date of separation and provided that such conversion shall not be in an amount so as to reduce the accumulation below one hundred and sixty (160) hours. Employees in this unit shall choose to use his/her remaining sick leave balance to implement Section 8.4 of this Memorandum provided that the employee has more than one hundred sixty (160) hours of sick leave accumulated as of the date of separation. Any amount received from conversion of sick leave under this Section shall not be considered compensation for purposes of contributions to, or benefits from, the San Xxxxxxx County Employees Retirement Association. Any employee hired on or after January 28, 1992 is not eligible for the cash conversion.
