Adult day health care facility means a facility that provides

  • Medical care facility as used in this title, means any institution, place, building or agency, whether

  • Adult day care means a program for six (6) or more individuals, of social and health-related services provided during the day in a community group setting for the purpose of supporting frail, impaired elderly or other disabled adults who can benefit from care in a group setting outside the home.

  • Day Patient means an Insured Person receiving Medical Services or treatments given in a medical clinic, day case procedure centre or Hospital where the Insured Person is not in Confinement.

  • Long-term care facility means a nursing home, retirement care, mental care, or other facility or institution that provides extended health care to resident patients.

  • Health care worker means a person other than a health care professional who provides medical, dental, or other health-related care or treatment under the direction of a health care professional with the authority to direct that individual's activities, including medical technicians, medical assistants, dental assistants, orderlies, aides, and individuals acting in similar capacities.

  • Residential child care facility means a twenty-four-hour residential facility where children live together with or are supervised by adults who are not their parents or relatives;

  • Family day care home means a unit registered under Title 5, Subtitle 5 of the Family Law Article.

  • Indian Health Care Provider means a health care program operated by the Indian Health Service (IHS) or by an Indian Tribe, Tribal Organization, or Urban Indian Organization (otherwise known as an I/T/U) as those terms are defined in § 4 of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (25 USC § 1603). Indian Health Care Provider includes a 638 Facility and provision of Indian Health Service Contract Health Services (IHS CHS).

  • Short-term acute care facility means a facility or Hospital that provides care to people with medical needs requiring short-term Hospital stay in an acute or critical setting such as for recovery following a surgery, care following sudden Sickness, Injury, or flare-up of a chronic Sickness.

  • Medicare Levy Surcharge means an extra charge payable by high income earners beyond the standard Medicare Levy if they do not have qualifying private hospital insurance coverage. This charge is assessed as part of an individual or family’s annual tax return.

  • Licensed health care practitioner means a physician, as defined in Section 1861(r)(1) of the Social Security Act, a registered professional nurse, licensed social worker or other individual who meets requirements prescribed by the Secretary of the Treasury.

  • Residential care facility means an institution, residence, or facility that is licensed by the department of mental health under section 5119.22 of the Revised Code and that provides care for a child.

  • Long-term acute care facility (LTAC) means a facility or Hospital that provides care to people with complex medical needs requiring long-term Hospital stay in an acute or critical setting.

  • Health care service means that service offered or provided by health care facilities and health care providers relating to the prevention, cure, or treatment of illness, injury, or disease.

  • Health facility means the medical college and hospital or the teaching hospital or the district/ sub-division etc. hospital to which the goods and/ or services under the contract shall be supplied.

  • Health care entity means any health care provider, health plan or health care clearinghouse.
