Appropriate repair definition

Appropriate repair means the diagnosis of the cause(s) of an emission test failure and/or the repair of one or more of these causes. An appropriate repair should reduce at least one emission test reading or diagnose and/or repair an emission problem identified by the on-board diagnostic (OBD) system.
