Attainment definition

Attainment means designated as attainment of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) pursuant to Section 107(d) of the federal Clean Air Act or of the State Ambient Air Quality Standards (SAAQS) pursuant to Section 39608 of the California Health and Safety Code, as applicable. For the purposes of these Rules 20.1, 20.2, 20.3 and 20.4, attainment of a NAAQS means also designated as attainment or unclassifiable by EPA in 40 CFR Section 81.305.
Attainment means that the quality of the ambient air, as determined by the Administrator, meets the Ambient Air Quality Standards for a given air pollutant.
