Vacancies shall be defined as either (1) a position to replace an Association member on leave of absence which has been or is expected to last longer than one semester (determined by the Board approved school calendar); (2) or a regular position which is either newly created; (3) or which is unfilled for the following school year because of death, retirement, resignation, or termination, and which the Board intends to fill.

If an employee is on the District payroll (i.e., either at work or on an approved leave of absence with pay) either the last workday immediately preceding or the first workday immediately following a holiday or Board-declared employee recess period as identified in the Board approved school calendar for the year, the employee’s compensation will not be diminished because of the holiday or Board declared recess period.
The standard work year shall consist of one hundred eighty-eight (188) days on duty which shall be made up of days in session, state-mandated school holidays, and non- student work days and/or in- service days as prescribed under the Board approved school calendar(s).
