Business Improvement Area definition

Business Improvement Area means an area designated by the City as an improvement area under the Municipal Act, 2001;

Business Improvement Area or “BIA” means a business improvement area established pursuant to section 50 of the Act and the regulations and bylaws enacted pursuant to that section;

Business Improvement Area means a geographic area in the City governed by a board of management to provide certain business promotion and improvement functions within that area;

• This part does not prohibit the boundaries of a district created pursuant to this part to overlap with other assessment districts established pursuant to other provisions of law, including, but not limited to, the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1989 (Part 6 (commencing with Section 36500)).

• Every improvement area established pursuant to the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1989 (Part 6 (commencing with Section 36500) of this division) is valid and effective and is unaffected by this part.

• They can also apply to the City to become a Business Improvement Area (BIA).

Business Improvement Area means the area designated as an improvement area by by-law 54-86 to designate the business improvement area, passed under the Municipal Act, 2001;
