Capstone course definition

Capstone course means an experiential nursing course for students to demonstrate integration of knowledge and professional nursing supervised by a preceptor during the final semester of the professional nursing program.

Capstone course means a clinical experience completed in the final year of the nursing education program that synthesizes the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills acquired throughout the program to prepare the student for professional nursing practice.

Examples of Capstone course in a sentence

  • Complete a minimum of 20 credits with a C or better in one of the following pathways (one must be a Capstone course) to earn a CTE Pathway medal to be worn at graduation.

  • Finally, students are given the opportunity to apply their new understanding and skills to a real-world experience through participation in an MPH Capstone course as well as a mentored organizational or community-based Applied Practice Experience.
