Class VI well definition

Class VI well means a well that is not experimental in nature that is used for geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide beneath the lowermost formation containing a USDW.
Class VI well means a well injecting a carbon dioxide stream for geologic sequestration. Class VI wells are regulated under this chapter.
Class VI well means a well used to inject carbon dioxide for purposes of geologic storage as defined in 40 C.F.R. 144.11(a)(2).

  • The owner or operator of a Class VI well must pre- pare, maintain, and comply with a plan that is acceptable to the Director.
