Clinical Functions definition

Clinical Functions means duty or permission to provide one or more direct patient care services in the Hospital at the request or direction, and under the supervision of a Staff Member.
Clinical Functions or "clinical duties" means the authority recommended by the Medical Staff and approved by the Board to allow an allied professional (Revised 10/96) to provide specific medical and/or other patient care services in the Hospital.
Clinical Functions means the authority recommended by the Medical Staff and granted by the Board to allow an Independent and a Dependent Allied Health Provider to provide specific medical and/or other patient care services in the Hospital, such Clinical Functions to be within defined limits and to be based on an individual’s professional license or certificate, education, training, experience, and demonstrated competence.

  • No Limited License Professional or Allied Health Professional shall exercise Clinical Functions except as authorized by the Manual.

  • Otherwise, upon receipt of the Medical Executive Committee’s recommendation, the Board may forward the application back to the Medical Executive Committee with specific questions or concerns or may: (a) approve the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions, (b) modify the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions, (c) approve the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions with conditions, or (d) deny the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions.

  • The Medical Executive Committee may recommend that the Board: (a) approve the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions, (b) modify the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions, (c) approve the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions with conditions, or (d) deny the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions.

  • Serving as a Preceptor in SGMC is not a Clinical Privilege or Clinical Function and the loss of eligibility to serve as a Preceptor is not a “denial” of Medical Staff or AHP appointment or Clinical Privileges or Clinical Functions.

  • In addition to the written request, which shall be submitted on a form supplied by the Hospital, information relating to the current licensure, competence and training, and ability of Provider to perform requested Clinical Privileges or Clinical Functions, in accordance with the requirements established by the Chief of Staff, shall be submitted.

  • School function means any school-sponsored extra-curricular event or activity.

  • Commercially Useful Function means responsibility for the execution of a distinct element of the work of the contract, which is carried out by actually performing, managing, and supervising the work involved, evidencing the responsibilities and risks of a business owner such as negotiating the terms of (sub)contracts, taking on a financial risk commensurate with the contract or its subcontract, responsibility for acquiring the appropriate lines of credit and/or loans, or fulfilling responsibilities as a joint venture partner as described in the joint venture agreement.

  • Essential functions means the fundamental job duties of the employment position the individual with a disability holds or desires. "Essential functions" does not include the marginal functions of the position.

  • Clinical nurse specialist means a registered nurse with relevant post-basic qualifications and 12 months’ experience working in the clinical area of his/her specified post-basic qualification, or a minimum of four years’ post-basic registration experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field and who satisfies the local criteria.
