Clinical Functions definition

Clinical Functions means duty or permission to provide one or more direct patient care services in the Hospital at the request or direction, and under the supervision of a Staff Member.
Clinical Functions means the authority recommended by the Medical Staff and approved by the Board to allow an allied professional to provide specific medical and/or other patient care services in the Hospital or the Network.
Clinical Functions means the authority recommended by the Medical Staff and granted by the Board to allow an Independent and a Dependent Allied Health Provider to provide specific medical and/or other patient care services in the Hospital, such Clinical Functions to be within defined limits and to be based on an individual’s professional license or certificate, education, training, experience, and demonstrated competence.

  • Upon approval by the Board after formal consultation with the Medical Executive Committee, specific classes of Limited License Professionals or Allied Health Professionals shall be authorized to apply for Clinical Privileges and Clinical Functions pursuant to Article V, F.(2) and (3) below.

  • No Limited License Professional or Allied Health Professional shall exercise Clinical Functions except as authorized by the Manual.

  • Otherwise, upon receipt of the Medical Executive Committee’s recommendation, the Board may forward the application back to the Medical Executive Committee with specific questions or concerns or may: (a) approve the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions, (b) modify the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions, (c) approve the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions with conditions, or (d) deny the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions.

  • The Medical Executive Committee may recommend that the Board: (a) approve the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions, (b) modify the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions, (c) approve the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions with conditions, or (d) deny the Clinical Privileges and/or Clinical Functions.

  • Such temporary Clinical Privileges or Clinical Functions shall cease upon the discharge from the Hospital of the specific patients.

  • A Provider’s refusal to cooperate with substance abuse testing or psychiatric or other medical evaluations, refusal to consent to release of non-restricted reports of treatment or follow-up, or refusal to cooperate with treatment shall constitute grounds for suspension or revocation of all or any part of the Provider’s Clinical Privileges, Clinical Functions, Medical Staff membership, or Limited License Professional or Allied Health Professional status.

  • Such action may be grounds for suspension or revocation of any or all parts of a Provider’s Clinical Privileges, Clinical Functions or Medical Staff membership.

  • The evaluating or treating physician(s) shall assist the Designated Chairmen in determining the appropriate level of restrictions on the Provider’s Clinical Privileges or Clinical Functions.

  • History and physical examinations may be performed and documented only by Physicians, physician’s assistants, and nurse practitioners with appropriate Clinical Privileges or Clinical Functions to perform history and physical examinations.

  • critical functions means activities, services or operations the discontinuance of which is likely in one or more Member States, to lead to the disruption of services that are essential to the real economy or to disrupt financial stability due to the size, market share, external and internal interconnectedness, complexity or cross-border activities of an institution or group, with particular regard to the substitutability of those activities, services or operations;

  • School function means any school-sponsored extra-curricular event or activity.

  • Essential functions means the fundamental job duties of the employment position the individual with a disability holds or desires. “Essential functions” does not include the marginal functions of the position.

  • Safety-sensitive function means all time from the time a driver begins to work or is required to be in readiness to work until the time he/she is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work.

  • Clinical nurse specialist means a registered nurse with relevant post-basic qualifications and 12 months’ experience working in the clinical area of his/her specified post-basic qualification, or a minimum of four years’ post-basic registration experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field and who satisfies the local criteria.

  • Clinical laboratory means a facility for the microbiological, serological, chemical, hematological, radiobioassay, cytological, immunohematological, pathological, or other examination of materials derived from the human body for the purpose of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease or assessment of a medical condition.

  • Clinical Development means the conduct of clinical trials in humans to assess the dosing, safety and/or efficacy of the Product, including but not limited to Phase I Clinical Trials, Phase II Clinical Trials, Phase Ill Clinical Trials and Phase IV Clinical Trials.

  • High-technology activity means that term as defined in section 3 of the Michigan economic growth authority act, 1995 PA 24, MCL 207.803.

  • Commercialization or “Commercialize” means activities directed to marketing, promoting, research and development as required, manufacturing for sale, offering for sale, distributing, importing or selling a product, including sub-licensing or sub-contracting of these activities.
