Committee on Political Education definition

Committee on Political Education. (the "Committee"). It shall be the responsibility of the Union to obtain and deliver such authorization cards to the University. The content of such cards shall be agreed to by the University and the Union. Upon receipt of authorization cards, the University shall begin weekly payroll deductions on the first feasible payroll. The University shall deduct the actual expense of making the payroll deductions by a deduction from the contributions. Contributions shall be transmitted to the Committee on a monthly basis, after the payroll deductions are made.
Committee on Political Education respectively. “Day”, “business day,” “work day,” or “working day” means a day when university classes or examinations are scheduled in accordance with the official academic quarter calendar of the University, or in accordance with the official academic semester calendar of any schools and colleges that are not on the quarter system. “Department” means an academic department or other employing unit (such as Xxx Memorial Union) which employs GEs. “Document” means written communication on paper or printed copy of an electronic message. “Familial status” means the relationship between one or more individuals at least one of whom has not attained 18 years of age and who is domiciled with (a) a parent or another person having legal custody of the individual; or (b) the designee of the parent or other person having such custody, with the written permission of the parent of the other person. “Familial status” includes any individual, regardless of age or domicile, who is pregnant or is in the process of securing legal custody of an individual who has not attained 18 years of age. “GE” or “Graduate Employee” means a graduate student appointed at .20 FTE or greater to provide teaching-related duties, research, or administrative duties. “GTFF” or “Union” means the Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation at the University of Oregon, American Federation of Teachers, Local #3544, AFL-CIO. “Member” means a public employee who is included in the bargaining unit as defined in Article 1 (Definition of Bargaining Unit).
