COPA Hospitals definition

COPA Hospitals means the Mountain States Hospitals and the Wellmont Hospitals. “COPA Modification” or terms of similar import means any addition, modification or otheramendment to the existing terms of, as applicable, the COPA, these Terms of Certification, and/or the Cooperative Agreement, effected in accordance with the terms hereof and the COPA Act.
COPA Hospitals means the Mountain States Hospitals and the Wellmont Hospitals.

  • In order to prevent low income patients who are uninsured from being adversely impacted due to the issuance of the COPA, the New Health System shall adopt a charity care policy for COPA Hospitals that is identical to or more charitable (but in no event less charitable) than, the existing policies of both Applicants and consistent with the Internal Revenue Service’s final 501(r) rule.

  • Furthermore, if state or federal support for residency positions to the COPA Hospitals is decreased, the New Health System may allocate funding to offset such reductions in order to sustain current or planned residency slots, and in such event such allocated funding shall count toward the required spending on HR/GME.

  • If the COPA Monitor determines the modification is a material change that necessitates obtaining additional information from an objective third party, the New Health System shall then engage a Facilities Consultant selected by the COPA Monitor to conduct a Facilities Assessment of the COPA Hospitals affected by the proposed modification in the same manner as set forth in Section 3.07(b)(iii).

  • It is the intent of this Addendum 1 to govern, for Measured Payors, all non-hospital outpatient services provided by outpatient diagnostic centers, ambulatory surgery centers, or anyother non-hospital outpatient settings for COPA Hospitals and other providers for which the New Health System exercises control or influence over managed care contracting, excluding providers described in Part X(c) below.

  • Hospitals means either an employee when engaged in repairs, demolition and / or maintenance in any block or portion of a hospital used for the care or treatment of patients suffering from infections or contagious diseases or when an employee is working inside a morgue in which one (1) or more dead bodies are not in refrigeration. Inclement weather will mean the existence of rain or abnormal climatic conditions (whether they be those of hail, snow, cold, high wind, severe dust storm, extreme high temperature or the like or any combination thereof) by virtue of which it is either not reasonable or not safe for employees to continue working whilst the same prevail. Industry allowance means an allowance to compensate for the following disabilities associated with construction work: Insulation includes handling charcoal, pumice, granulated cork, silicate of cotton, insulwool, slag wool, limpet fibre, vermiculite or other recognise insulating materials of a like nature, associated with similar disability in its use. This will also apply where an employee is working in the immediate vicinity who is affected by the use of such materials. Irrigation installer means an employee employed or usually employed in executing any irrigation plumbing. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing such work will include the following: Lagger means a person that insulates or clads ducts, pipes, valves or any other thing used in or in connection with the plumbing and air conditioning industry for the protection of thermal and or acoustics.

  • SPECIALTY HOSPITAL means a hospital or the specialty unit of a general hospital that is licensed by the state. It must be designed to care for patients with injuries or special illnesses. This includes, but is not limited to, a long-term acute care unit, an acute mental health or acute short-term rehabilitation unit or hospital. • convalescent home; • rest home; • nursing home; • home for the aged; • school and college infirmary; • residential treatment facility; • long-term care facility; • urgent care center or freestanding ambulatory surgical center; • facility providing mainly custodial, educational or rehabilitative care; or • a section of a hospital used for custodial, educational or rehabilitative care, even if accredited by the JCAHO or listed in the AHA directory.

  • Transplant hospital means a hospital that furnishes organ transplants and other medical and surgical specialty services required for the care of transplant patients.

  • Hospital means a facility that:

  • Outpatient hospital services means preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, observation, rehabilitation, or palliative services provided to an outpatient by or under the direction of a physician, dentist, or other practitioner by an institution that:

  • public hospital means a governmental entity of a political subdivision of the state of Iowa that is authorized by legislative authority. For purposes of this subrule, a “public hospital” must also meet the requirements of Iowa Code section 249J.3. Under Iowa Code section 249J.3, a “public hospital” must be licensed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 135B and governed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 145A (merged hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347 (county hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347A (county hospitals payable from revenue), or Iowa Code chapter 392 (creation by city of a hospital or health care facility). For the purposes of this definition, “public hospital” does not include a hospital or medical care facility that is funded, operated, or administered by the Iowa department of human services, Iowa department of corrections, or board of regents, or the Iowa Veterans Home.

  • Inpatient hospital services means any health care service provided to a patient who has been admitted to a hospital and is required to remain in that hospital overnight, but does not include any secure forensic mental health services;

  • Hospital/Nursing Home : means any institution established for in- patient care and day care treatment of sickness and / or injuries and which has been registered as a Hospital with the local authorities, wherever applicable, and is under the supervision of a registered and qualified Medical Practitioner OR must comply with all minimum criteria as under:

  • Acute care hospital means a Hospital that provides Acute Care Services. Adjudicate means to deny or pay a Clean Claim. Administrative Services see MCO Administrative Services. Administrative Services Contractor see HHSC Administrative Services Contractor.

  • Medical cannabis pharmacy means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.

  • Psychiatric hospital means an Institution constituted, licensed, and operated as set forth in the laws that apply to Hospitals, which meets all of the following requirements:

  • Mental Hospital means a health care facility (or its psychiatric unit) which:

  • General hospital means a subclass of hospital that provides surgical services and emergency services.

  • o GENERAL HOSPITAL means a hospital that is designed to care for medical and surgical patients with acute illness or injury.

  • Orthotics means the science and practice of evaluating, measuring, designing, fabricating, assembling, fitting, adjusting, or servicing an orthosis under a prescription from a licensed physician for the correction or alleviation of neuromuscular or musculoskeletal dysfunction, disease, injury, or deformity;

  • Hospital pharmacy means a pharmacy providing pharmaceutical care to

  • private hospital means a hospital that is not a public hospital;

  • Hospital pharmacist means an Iowa-licensed pharmacist who meets the requirements for participating in a hospital practice protocol as determined by the hospital’s P&T committee.

  • Hospital system means a hospital and one or more

  • Hospice patient s family" means a hospice patient's immediate family members, including a spouse, brother, sister, child, or parent, and any other relative or individual who has significant personal ties to the patient and who is designated as a member of the patient's family by mutual agreement of the patient, the relative or individual, and the patient's interdisciplinary team.

  • Hospice means a public agency or private organization licensed pursuant to Chapter 400, Florida Statutes, to provide Hospice services. Such licensed entity must be principally engaged in providing pain relief, symptom management, and supportive services to terminally ill Members and their families.

  • Participating private hospital means a hospital that has a hospital purchaser provider agreement with Latrobe.

  • Medical cannabis card means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.

  • Rural hospital means a hospital that meets both of the following:

  • Orthodontic means a type of specialist dental treatment carried out by an orthodontist that diagnoses, prevents and corrects mispositioned teeth and jaws and misaligned bite patterns.

  • Medical cannabis means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.
