Debit Card definition

Debit Card means a card, including a Smart Card, issued by the Financial Institution that allows the holder of the card to deposit cash and/or Instruments or withdraw cash from the Account through an ATM, authorize Transactions on the Account through an ATM, and that operates like an Instrument to purchase goods and services from merchants.

  • Merchants must provide you with a clear way of choosing to make a Visa Debit Card transaction if they support PIN-less service.

  • If there is an unauthorized Visa Debit Card transaction made without a PIN “access code”, and the transaction takes place on the VISA network, then your liability will be zero ($0.00); if you notify us promptly of your lost or stolen Card, provided you were not grossly negligent or fraudulent in handling your Card and you provide us with a written statement regarding your unauthorized Card claim, otherwise the following liability limits will apply.
