Examples of EMA in a sentence
Type EMA/SMA/StepMA Default = EMA This determines which type of moving average will be used for trend filtering purposes.
Example: Your trading chart is a 10 Range bar chart but you want to use a higher timeframe (HTF) for your moving average trend filter so you define the moving average as a 20 bar EMA of 15 minute bars.
That means that the trend filter will be based on a single moving average (SMA or EMA) which will be a 9-minute average of 2 minute bars.
Type EMA/SMA/StepMA Default = EMA This determines whether a Simple Moving Average (SMA), Exponential Moving Average (EMA), or Step Moving Average (StepMA) will be used as a trend filter when the Require option is turned On.
This option only applies to SMA and EMA and only appears when Basis is set to Minutes.
