Emergency Hospitalization definition

Emergency Hospitalization means admission of the Insured Person in a Hospital as an in-patient for a minimum period of 24 consecutive hours for an Illness contracted or Injury sustained by an Insured Person in an Accident, which occurs suddenly and unexpectedly, and requires immediate medical care to prevent death or serious long term impairment of the Insured Person’s health, as prescribed by a Medical Practitioner.
Emergency Hospitalization means any medical event requiring immediate medical assistance to sustain life of the insured or to repair injury sustained by him in an accident as an inpatient in a hospital for more than 24 hours.

  • If the decision for inpatient hospitalization is necessary, a licensed medical doctor and the CCC/Nurse must evaluate the inmate and complete the Application for Emergency Hospitalization for Mental Illness to secure inpatient hospitalization on an involuntary basis.

  • All benefits are available in India only and all claims shall be payable in India in Indian Rupees only except for benefits and claims under Section 3.20 (Specified Illness cover), Section 3.22 (Emergency Medical Evacuation – outside the geographical boundaries of India) and Section 3.23 (Emergency Hospitalization – outside the geographical boundaries of India).

  • EMERGENCY HOSPITALIZATION If Emergency Hospitalization is necessary, the Covered Person, a Family member, your Physician or the Hospital are advised to contact American Health Holding within 48 hours following admission.

  • Please inform IFFCO-TOKIO well in advance (at least 48 Hours before admission) about the hospitalization (Within 24 hours of admission, in case of Emergency Hospitalization).

Partial hospital programs are usually furnished by a hospital as distinct and organized intensive ambulatory treatment service of less than 24-hour daily care.
