Emergency Hospitalization definition

Emergency Hospitalization means admission of the Insured Person in a Hospital as an in-patient for a minimum period of 24 consecutive hours for an Illness contracted or Injury sustained by an Insured Person in an Accident, which occurs suddenly and unexpectedly, and requires immediate medical care to prevent death or serious long term impairment of the Insured Person’s health, as prescribed by a Medical Practitioner.
Emergency Hospitalization means any medical event requiring immediate medical assistance to sustain life of the insured or to repair injury sustained by him in an accident as an inpatient in a hospital for more than 24 hours.

  • This benefit is not applicable for expenses incurred outside India as defined under Section 3.3.1 (Emergency Medical Evacuation – outside the geographical boundaries of India), Section 3.4 (Emergency Hospitalization – outside the geographical boundaries of India) and Section 3.5 (Specified Illness cover – outside the geographical boundaries of India).

  • Any treatment or medical services received outside India except for treatment undertaken under Section 3.3.1 (Emergency Medical Evacuation – outside the geographical boundaries of India), Section 3.4 (Emergency Hospitalization – outside the geographical boundaries of India) and Section 3.5 (Specified Illness cover – outside the geographical boundaries of India).

  • This benefit is not applicable for expenses incurred outside India as defined under Section 3.3.1 (Emergency Medical Evacuation – outside the geographical boundaries of India), Section 3.4 (Emergency Hospitalization – outside the geographical boundaries of India) and Section 3.5 (Specified Illness cover for treatment outside the geographical boundaries of India).

  • Notwithstanding anything contrary to the terms and conditions specified therein, geographic coverage for the benefits set out in Section 3.3.1 (Emergency Medical Evacuation – outside the geographical boundaries of India), Section 3.4 (Emergency Hospitalization – outside the geographical boundaries of India) and Section 3.5 (Specified Illness cover – outside the geographical boundaries of India) is extended to include USA & Canada.

  • In case of an Emergency Hospitalization, the Company shall be notified either at the Company’s call center or in writing immediately and in any event within 24 hours of admission to Network Provider.

  • All benefits are available in India only, and all claims shall be payable in India in Indian Rupees only except for benefits and claims under Section 3.3.1 (Emergency Medical Evacuation – outside the geographical boundaries of India), Section 3.4 (Emergency Hospitalization – outside the geographical boundaries of India) and Section 3.5 (Specified Illness cover – outside the geographical boundaries of India).

  • Any unforeseen death, disablement (whether of a permanent or temporary nature), Injury due to an Accident, Illness or Hospitalization of the Insured Person or his/her Immediate Family Member, leading to Emergency Hospitalization for minimum period of 48 hours, whilst the ▪ Insufficient explanation for the purpose and circumstances of the planned stay ▪ Damaged Passport ▪ Passport Invalidity b.

Emergency Hospitalization and "Emergency Medical Care" means hospitalization or medical care:
Emergency Hospitalization means the medical care rendered under conditions providing twenty-four-hour medical supervision and treatment (inpatient treatment) under sudden acute illnesses, conditions, exacerbation of chronic illnesses constituting a threat to life of patients.
Emergency Hospitalization and "Emergency Medical Care" means health care services provided to treat an Emergency Medical Condition.
