Equipment blank means a sample of water which, prior to use, is known to be free of contaminants, and which is processed through the sampling equipment in the field in the same manner as the actual water sample to determine if field procedures intro- duce contaminants into the samples. This is also known as a “rinse blank” or a ”field equipment blank.”
