First Class Constable definition

First Class Constable means a constable who has served for a period of at least one (1) year as a Second Class Constable and who has been recommended for reclassification to First Class Constable by the Chief of Police and such reclassification has been approved by the Board.
First Class Constable means a Member classified and paid as a First Class Constable.
First Class Constable means a constable who has served for a period of at least one (1) year as a Second-Class Constable and who has been recommended for reclassification to First Class Constable by the Chief of Police and such reclassification has been approved by the Board.

Examples of First Class Constable in a sentence

  • Effective January 1, 2008, Sergeant/Detective to be paid as a percentage of the appropriate First Class Constable rate as follows: Year 1 – 109.5% of First Class Constable rate.

  • Calculations, in this instance, recognize the base rate of pay of a First Class Constable as that set out in the appended Schedule of Salaries and does not include the Municipal Policing Allowance where applicable.

  • Effective January 1, 2008, Acting Staff Sergeant to be paid at 117.5% of First Class Constable rate.

  • Effective January 1, 2008, Staff Sergeant/Detective Sergeant to be paid as a percentage of the appropriate First Class Constable Rate as follows: Year 1 – 119.5% of First Class Constable rate.

  • A member will be reclassified successfully to Third Class Constable, Second Class Constable and First Class Constable with a corresponding increase in salary in accordance with Schedule A on completion of each twelve (12) months of service from the date of employment to the classification, provided their performance and efficiency have proved satisfactory to the Chief of Police and only upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police.

  • After completing 17 years of continuous service – 6% of the base rate of a First Class Constable.

  • There shall be a Senior Constable classification that will be paid at 1.5% above the First Class Constable rate.

  • After completing 23 years of continuous service – 9% of the base rate of a First Class Constable.

  • All members with seventeen (17) or more years of service shall be entitled to an extra six percent (6%) of a First Class Constable Salary.

  • There will be a twelve (12%) per cent differential between the rank of First Class Constable and Sergeant.
