Indian Health Service definition

Indian Health Service means the agency of that name within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services established by Sec. 601 of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (“IHCIA”), 25 USC §1661.

Indian Health Service and “IHS” each has the meaning provided for in OAR 410-120-0000.

Indian Health Service. (IHS) means the bureau of the United States Department of Health and Human Services that is responsible for delivering public health and medical services to American Indians throughout the country in accordance with treaties with Tribal Governments.
