Industry OmbudService definition

Industry OmbudService means any of OBSI, the Ombudservice for Life and Health Insurance (OLHI) and the General Insurance Ombudservice (GIO).

  • Where, in the opinion of the Ombudsman, the subject matter of a Complaint (in whole or in part) is one in which another Industry OmbudService has expertise and the Complainant and the Participating Firm consent, the Ombudsman may co-operate with that Industry OmbudService in the investigation of the Complaint and may, if appropriate, make a recommendation jointly with the other Industry OmbudService for the resolution of the Complaint.
