Information assurance, definition

Information assurance, as used in this subpart, means measures that protect and defend information, that is entered, processed, transmitted, stored, retrieved, displayed, or destroyed, and information systems, by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. This includes providing for the restoration of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities.
Information assurance, means the certainty that the communication and information systems will protect the information they handle and store and will function as they need to, when they need to, under the control of legitimate users, while ensuring appropriate levels of authenticity, availability, confidentiality, integrity and non-repudiation;
Information assurance, means information controls and standards; "Insolvency Event" the occurrence of any of the following events (or any event analogous to any of the following in a jurisdiction other than England and Wales) in relation to the relevant entity: (a) the entity passing a resolution for its winding up or a court of competent jurisdiction making an order for the entity to be wound up or dissolved or the entity being otherwise dissolved; (b) the appointment of an administrator of, or the making of an administration order in relation to, the entity or the appointment of a receiver or administrative receiver of, or an encumbrancer taking possession of or selling, the whole or part of the entity's undertaking, assets, rights or revenue; (c) the entity entering into an arrangement, compromise or composition in satisfaction of its debts with its creditors or any class of them or taking steps to obtain a moratorium or making an application to a court of competent jurisdiction for protection from its creditors; (d) the entity being unable to pay its debts or being deemed unable to pay its debts within the meaning of section 123 of the Insolvency Act 1986; or (e) the entity entering into any arrangement, compromise or composition in satisfaction of its debts with its creditors; However, a resolution by the relevant entity or a court order that such entity be wound up for the purpose of a bona fide reconstruction or amalgamation shall not amount to an Insolvency Event; amalgamation shall not amount to an Insolvency Event; "Intellectual Property Rights" patents, trademarks, service marks, design rights (whether registerable or otherwise), applications for any of the foregoing, know-how, rights protecting databases, trade or business names and other similar rights or obligations whether registerable or not in any country (including but not limited to the United Kingdom).

  • Information Resources means any and all computer printouts, online display devices, mass storage media, and all computer-related activities involving any device capable of receiving email, browsing Web sites, or otherwise capable of receiving, storing, managing, or transmitting Data including, but not limited to, mainframes, servers, Network Infrastructure, personal computers, notebook computers, hand-held computers, personal digital assistant (PDA), pagers, distributed processing systems, network attached and computer controlled medical and laboratory equipment (i.e. embedded technology), telecommunication resources, network environments, telephones, fax machines, printers and service bureaus. Additionally, it is the procedures, equipment, facilities, software, and Data that are designed, built, operated, and maintained to create, collect, record, process, store, retrieve, display, and transmit information.

  • Information Services means the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board’s Electronic Municipal Market Access System; or, such other services providing information with respect to called municipal obligations as the District may specify in writing to the Paying Agent or as the Paying Agent may select.

  • Information Assets means any information, including Confidential Information, necessary to the operation of either party that is created, stored, transmitted, processed, or managed on any hardware, software, network components, or any printed form, or is communicated orally. “Information Assets” does not include information that has been transferred from the Disclosing Party to the Receiving Party under applicable laws, regulations, and agency guidance, and that is being maintained and used by the Receiving Party solely for purposes that are not Contractor Covered California Functions.

  • Information Disclosure Requirements means the requirements to disclose information under:

  • Information technology services means services designed to do any of the following:

  • Reasonable assurance means a high degree of confidence that submitted data and statements are valid.

  • Confidential commercial or financial information means any business information (other than trade secrets) which is exempt from the mandatory disclosure requirement of the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. 552. Exemptions from mandatory disclosure which may be applicable to business information contained in proposals include exemption (4), which covers “commercial and financial information obtained from a person and privileged or confidential,” and exemption (9), which covers “geological and geophysical information, including maps, concerning wells.”

  • Confidential communication means a communication not intended to be disclosed to third persons other than those to whom disclosure is in furtherance of the rendition of professional legal services to the client or those reasonably necessary for the transmission of the communication.

  • Information Service is the offering of a capability for generating, acquiring, storing, transforming, processing, retrieving, utilizing, or making available information via Telecommunications, and includes electronic publishing, but does not include any use of any such capability for the management, control, or operation of a Telecommunications system or the management of a Telecommunications Service.

  • Electronic and Information Resources Accessibility Standards means the accessibility standards for electronic and information resources contained in Title 1 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 213.

  • Information has the meaning specified in Section 10.07.

  • State Confidential Information means any and all State Records not subject to disclosure under CORA. State Confidential Information shall include, but is not limited to, PII, PHI, PCI, Tax Information, CJI, and State personnel records not subject to disclosure under CORA. State Confidential Information shall not include information or data concerning individuals that is not deemed confidential but nevertheless belongs to the State, which has been communicated, furnished, or disclosed by the State to Contractor which (i) is subject to disclosure pursuant to CORA; (ii) is already known to Contractor without restrictions at the time of its disclosure to Contractor; (iii) is or subsequently becomes publicly available without breach of any obligation owed by Contractor to the State; (iv) is disclosed to Contractor, without confidentiality obligations, by a third party who has the right to disclose such information; or (v) was independently developed without reliance on any State Confidential Information.

  • Information Service Traffic Traffic delivered to or from an Information Service Provider for the provision of Information Service. ISP-Bound Traffic is a subset of Information Service Traffic. Inside Wire or Inside Wiring: Wiring within the customer Premises that extends to the Demarcation Point of CenturyLink’s outside plant. Inside Wire is owned or controlled by the End User (unless otherwise specified herein or under Applicable Law).

  • Information Service Provider A provider of Information Service. Information Service Provider includes, but is not limited to, Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

  • Information processing system means an electronic system for creating, generating, sending, receiving, storing, displaying, or processing information.

  • Information Recipients has the meaning stated in Section 4.9(a).
