Initial safety plan. One of three types of safety plans. This is a documented set of actions or interventions sufficient to protect a child from an “impending danger safety threat” while Child Protective Services completes their assessment. Intervenor (also, Intervenor status): Any person who meets the definition of a “caregiver relationship” has the right to file for intervenor status and if granted, becomes a legal party to the case. The court must find a caregiver relationship exists and that the basis for intervention is in the best interests of the child. If ICWA applies, tribes have intervenor status in the case.
