Inoperative Vehicle definition

Inoperative Vehicle means any motor vehicle that cannot be moved under its own power.
Inoperative Vehicle means any vehicle in such condition, as result of mechanical and/or structural defects, however caused, that cannot be driven under its own power.
Inoperative Vehicle means any Vehicle, motor vehicle, vessel, trailer or camping trailer which, that appears by reason of its appearance, mechanical, functional or structural condition not to be operative and includes those vehicles that require a valid license plate be displayed to operate on a highway and have in existence proof of a valid and current registration, pursuant to the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act and amendments thereto, regardless of whether it is required at the time of inspection, and includes all vehicles or vessels that are wrecked, discarded, dismantled or abandoned, or a vehicle or vessel which has had part or all of its superstructure or motor power removed;

More Definitions of Inoperative Vehicle

Inoperative Vehicle means (a) any vehicle that cannot be moved under its own power; or (b) prohibited from being operated on a public street or highway under the provisions of Vehicle Code Section 24002 relating to vehicles in an unsafe condition.

With respect to a motor vehicle, in addition to the foregoing, inoperative vehicle means a vehicle that is not then capable of self-propulsion.
