Inquiring Authority definition

Inquiring Authority or ‘Inquiring Officer’ means any person or persons empowered by the Competent Authority from time-to-time under these Rules to inquire into misconduct.
Inquiring Authority means an officer or authority appointed by the State Government or by the High Court of Karnataka or by the Chief Justice of Karnataka or by the1[Lokayukta or an Upalokayukta]1 or by any officer or authority subordinate to the State Government to hold a departmental inquiry and includes any officer or authority who is empowered by or under any law or rule for the time being in force to hold such inquiry;
Inquiring Authority means a person whether a employee of NLU or any other person appointed/delegated by the Disciplinary Authority to act in such a capacity to inquire into the charges leveled against the employee in accordance with the procedure laid down under these Regulations.

  • A Government servant may, however, take the assistance of any other Government servant posted at any other station on being permitted by the Inquiring Authority to do so.
