Integrated community setting means a setting that typically includes the following characteristics- a. It supports the individual’s access to the greater community, including opportunities to work in competitive integrated settings, engage in community life, control personal resources, and receive services in the community. The degree of access supported shall be similar to the access enjoyed by individuals not receiving support services; b. It is in the individual’s own home or is another setting that is selected by the individual. c. It ensures an individual’s rights to privacy, dignity, respect, and freedom from coercion and restraint; d. It optimizes individual initiative, autonomy, and independence in making life choices, including in daily activities, physical environment, and personal associations; and, e. It facilitates individual choice regarding services and supports and who provides them.
