More Definitions of International whole vehicle type approval

International whole vehicle type approval. (IWVTA) means: (1) the procedure for type approval of whole vehicle as stipulated by the UN Regulation No. 0 and (2) the document granted to a vehicle type, which is in conformity with the provisions stipulated by the UN Regulation No. 0. Such double interpretation in some cases can complicate understanding of the term. An IWVTA means a type approval certificate for a whole vehicle delivered according to the IWVTA procedures specified in Regulation No. 0. Hereby, a Contracting Party certifies that a type of vehicle satisfies the relevant administrative provisions and technical requirements of UN Regulation No. 0 and in conformity with the UN Regulations listed in Annex 4 of Regulation No. 0. This universal IWVTA will be recognized by all Contracting Parties applying UN Regulation No. 0. There is also the intention of establishing an "IWVTA of limited validity" which is a whole vehicle type approval with a lower level of stringency in the performance requirements that may be accepted by some Contracting Parties applying UN Regulation No. 0 but not necessarily all of them. This concept allows Contracting Parties to accept approvals granted to preceding versions of UN Regulations listed in Annex 4, Part A, Table 3.
International whole vehicle type approval means that all type approvals granted pursuant to applicable UN Regulations for the systems, components and parts of a vehicle are integrated into a single approval of the whole vehicle according to the administrative provisions of UN Regulation No. 0
