Job Abolishment definition

Job Abolishment means the permanent deletion of a position or positions from the organization or structure of the Employer due to lack of continued need for the position. The Employer retains the right to abolish positions for reasons of economy, lack of continuing need for the position, lack of work expected to last for one year (1) or more, or reorganization for the efficient operation of the Employer.
Job Abolishment is the permanent elimination of a position/assignment.

Examples of Job Abolishment in a sentence

  • If the position of a permanent employee was abolished during their absence they shall be subject to the lay-off provisions, under Article 8 (Job Abolishment and Lay-Off), applicable had they been occupying the position at the time of its abolition.
