Minor Adolescent definition

Minor Adolescent means any person that was seven (7) years of age through eleven (11) years of age as of the date they first ingested or came into contact with water received from the Flint Water Treatment Plant during the Exposure Period.

  • Biologically-based mental illness means schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, paranoia and other psychotic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorder, as these terms are defined in the most recent edition of the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders published by the American Psychiatric Association.

  • Palliative care means medical service rendered to reduce or moderate temporarily the intensity of an otherwise stable medical condition, but does not include those medical services ren- dered to diagnose, heal or permanently alleviate or eliminate a medical condition.

  • Labour-Based Methods means work methods whereby activities are carried out using labour where technically and economically viable and appropriate equipment is only used when labour alone will not achieve the required standards.

  • Uniformed service veteran means a former uniformed service member who has been discharged under conditions other than dishonorable.

  • Non-surgically implanted prostheses means a replacement body part not surgically implanted.

  • Dependent care assistance program or "DCAP" means a benefit plan whereby school employees may pay for certain employment related dependent care with pretax dollars as provided in the salary reduction plan under chapter 41.05 RCW pursuant to 26 U.S.C. Sec. 129 or other sections of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • Intensive Care Unit means an identified section, ward or wing of a hospital which is under the constant supervision of a dedicated medical practitioner(s), and which is specially equipped for the continuous monitoring and treatment of patients who are in a critical condition, or require life support facilities and where the level of care and supervision is considerably more sophisticated and intensive than in the ordinary and other wards.

  • Medically Necessary Leave of Absence means any change in enrollment at the post-secondary school that begins while the child is suffering from a serious illness or injury, is medically necessary, and causes the child to lose student status for purposes of coverage under the Plan.

  • Autism spectrum disorders means any of the pervasive developmental disorders as defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th edition, published by the American Psychiatric Association, including autistic disorder, Asperger's disorder and pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified.

  • Managed Care Plans means all health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations, individual practice associations, competitive medical plans and similar arrangements.

  • COVID-19 symptoms means fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea, unless a licensed health care professional determines the person’s symptoms were caused by a known condition other than COVID-19.

  • Inpatient means an Insured Person who is Confined.

  • Preventive Care means certain Preventive Care services.

  • Pregnant or “pregnancy” means that female reproductive

  • Licensed health care practitioner means a physician, as defined in Section 1861(r)(1) of the Social Security Act, a registered professional nurse, licensed social worker or other individual who meets requirements prescribed by the Secretary of the Treasury.

  • Managed care plan means a health benefit plan that either requires a covered person to use, or

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or "CPR" means artificial ventilation or external chest compression applied to a person who is unresponsive and not breathing.
