Preventive Care definition

Preventive Care means certain Preventive Care services.
Preventive Care means routine treatment or examination provided when there is no objective indication or outward manifestation of impairment of normal health or normal bodily function, and which is not provided as a result of any Injury or Illness.
Preventive Care means the care or services rendered to avert disease/illness and/or its consequences. There are three levels of preventive care: primary, such as immunizations, aimed at preventing disease; secondary, such as disease screening programs aimed at early detection of disease; and tertiary, such as physical therapy, aimed at restoring function after the disease has occurred. Commonly, the term "preventive care" is used to designate prevention and early detection programs rather than treatment programs.

Examples of Preventive Care in a sentence

  • Preventive Care including, but not limited to, wellness exams, preventative Treatment, vaccinations, flea control and other parasite prevention, unless You purchase Optional Defender or DefenderPlus Coverage.

  • You are not responsible for paying a Co-payment and/or Co- insurance for PPACA Zero Cost Share Preventive Care Medications.

Preventive Care is as specific set of evidence-based services expected to prevent future illness. These services are based on guidelines established by government agencies and professional medical societies. For more information about what services are covered as preventive see Preventive Care. Coverage for routine eye exams and glasses includes the following:  Vision exams including dilation and with refraction by an ophthalmologist or an optometrist. Preventive Care means health services provided by health care professionals to identify and treat asymptomatic individuals who have risk factors or preclinical disease, but in whom the disease is not clinically apparent, including immunizations and screening, counseling, treatment, and medication determined by scientific evidence to be effective in preventing or detecting a condition.
