  • The Merchant Shipping (National Small Vessel Safety) Regulations, 2007 (as amended) require the Authority to determine the standards of competence for skippers of all commercial small vessels, as well as skippers of certain pleasure vessels (being either a sailing pleasure vessel of more than 9 metres or a power driven pleasure vessel with a motor of more than 15 HP).

  • Accordingly, SAMSA’s policy is that the principles of the Merchant Shipping (National Small Vessel Safety) Regulations 2007 (as amended), must be applied in all South African waters (including inland waters) in a standard way.

  • The Merchant Shipping (National Small Vessel Safety) Regulations, 2007 (as amended), apply to commercial small vessels < 25 GT and recreational vessels < 100 GT in all South African waters including inland waters.

  • Authorised Agencies are certain water sport bodies that qualify for designation as per the definitions in the Merchant Shipping (National Small Vessel Safety) Regulations, 2007 (as amended) as per regulation 30.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Law means any Legal Requirement designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions and to reduce occupational safety and health hazards, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and any program, whether governmental or private (such as those promulgated or sponsored by industry associations and insurance companies), designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions.

  • National Road Traffic Act means the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996);

  • UCITS Regulations means the European Communities Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) Regulations, 2011 (S.I. No. 352 of 2011) (as amended consolidated or substituted from time to time) and any regulations or notices issued by the Central Bank pursuant thereto for the time being in force.

  • TUPE Regulations means the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006, as amended.

  • National Ambient Air Quality Standards or “NAAQS” means national ambient air quality standards that are promulgated pursuant to Section 109 of the Act, 42 U.S.C. § 7409.

  • Council Regulation means Council Regulation (EC) No. 2100/94 of 27th July 1994 on Community plant variety rights;

  • OHS Regulation means the Workers Compensation Act (British Columbia), including without limitation, the Occupational Health & Safety Regulation (BC Regulation 296/97, as amended by BC Regulation 185/99) enacted pursuant to such Act, all as such Act or Regulations are amended or re-enacted from time to time.

  • TRADES Regulations means the regulations of the United States Department of the Treasury, published at 31 C.F.R. Part 357, as amended from time to time. Unless otherwise defined herein, all terms defined in the TRADES Regulations are used herein as therein defined.

  • EP Regulations means The Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations SI 2016 No.1154 and words and expressions used in this permit which are also used in the Regulations have the same meanings as in those Regulations.

  • Health and Safety Laws means any Laws pertaining to safety and health in the workplace, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 29 U.S.C. 651 et seq. (“OSHA”), and the Toxic Substances Control Act, 15 U.S.C. 2601, et seq. (“TSCA”).

  • Central Bank UCITS Regulations means the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement)

  • CDM Regulations means the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015;

  • the 1997 Regulations means the Zebra, Pelican and Puffin Pedestrian Crossing Regulations 1997.

  • PPPFA Regulations means the Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2017 published in terms of the PPPFA.

  • Biological safety cabinet means a containment unit suitable for the preparation of low to moderate risk agents where there is a need for protection of the product, personnel, and environment, according to National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standard 49.

  • Radio Regulations means the Radio Regulations annexed to, or regarded as being annexed to, the most recent International Telecommunication Convention which may be in force at any time.

  • EU Regulation means a regulation within the meaning of Article 288 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union;

  • Data Protection Regulation means Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 20161 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);
