Night Shifts definition

Night Shifts means those shifts commencing at or after 4.00 pm.
Night Shifts. (as defined under sub-clause 16.5(b)); and
Night Shifts means only regular shifts requiring work between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. of the succeeding day. All other shifts shall be regarded as "day shifts." For regular "night shifts," the compensation shall be ten percent (10%) higher than the salary paid the Employee on "day shifts." Any Employee regularly working on a "day shift' who is transferred to a "night shift" shall receive ten percent (10%) additional compensation. Any Employee transferred to a "day shift" shall not receive the additional ten percent (10%) compensation while working days.

Examples of Night Shifts in a sentence

  • Half hour lunch breaks on the Afternoon and Night Shifts will be paid time.

  • Sick Relief Call Outs (continuous operations employees only): 2 x hourly wage for all Night Shifts (1800-0600) and for Day Shifts on Sundays.

  • The normal standard shifts shall be as follows: 07:00 hours – 15:00 hours (Day Shifts) 15:00 hours – 23:00 hours (Evening Shifts) 23:00 hours – 07:00 hours (Night Shifts) The aforementioned standard hours of work and shift schedule are stated solely for the purpose of calculating overtime and shall not be construed as a guarantee of any minimum or a restriction on any maximum number of hours to be worked.

  • On Evening and Night Shifts, if a full shift is worked the Wage Work Assessment shall be paid on eight (8) hours (or time actually worked if less than a full shift).

  • A shift worker means an Employee for the time being required by the Employer to work in a system of shifts, being day shifts or Night Shifts or any combination of them; or Continuous Shift Work.

  • A and C Shifts shall be designated Day Shifts; B and D Shifts shall be designated Night Shifts.

  • Per Diems must be available for two (2) Weekend shifts and two (2) Night Shifts, as applicable.

  • During the eight (8) week cycle of the roster each employee will be rostered for three (3) weeks on Day shift, one (1) week on each of Afternoon and Night Shifts, two (2) weeks on irregular shift and will be rostered off work for one (1) week.

  • Annual leave is paid at a Team Member’s ordinary time rate of pay for their ordinary hours work during the period plus annual leave loading the of 17.5% or where the Team Member would have been rostered to work Night Shifts during the period, the Night Shift loading.

  • The starting time for the Day Shift shall be between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and the starting times for the Night Shift shall be between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The number of sergeants assigned to the Booster shift, or any other shift established by the Department, shall not be greater than the number of sergeants assigned on the Day or Night Shifts.

Related to Night Shifts

  • Night Shift means a shift which commences at or after 4.00 pm and before 6.00 am on the day following.

  • Clock hour means either of the following:

  • Flight Hour means each hour or part thereof elapsing from the moment at which the wheels of the Aircraft (or other aircraft in the case of Parts or Engines temporarily installed on such other aircraft) leave the ground on the take-off of the Aircraft (or such other aircraft) until the wheels of the Aircraft (or such other aircraft) touch the ground on the landing of the Aircraft (or such other aircraft) following such take-off.

  • Afternoon shift means any shift finishing after 6.00 p.m. and at or before midnight.

  • Off-Peak Hours means those hours which are not On-Peak Hours.
