Such foreign ownership limits may be applied on an aggregate basis (i.e. across both domestically and overseas issued shares of the same issuer, whether the relevant holdings are through Northbound Trading, QFII/RQFII regime or other investment channels).
Under the Northbound Trading Link, eligible foreign investors are required to appoint the CFETS or other institutions recognised by the People’s Bank of China (“PBOC”) as registration agents to apply for registration with the PBOC.
