Participating First Nation has the same meaning as in the First Nations Jurisdiction over Education in British Columbia Act, and includes [NAME OF FIRST NATION];
Participating First Nation means any First Nation that signs a Canada-First Nation Education Jurisdiction Agreement with Canada;
Participating First Nation means:
(i) for the purposes of the Foundation and the Foundation Contribution, a First Nation that has entered into a Land Use Planning Agreement covering all of its Traditional Territory that is a part of the Project Area or a First Nation that has entered into a treaty and has accepted EBM over all of its Traditional Territory that is part of the Project Area;
(ii) for the purposes of Canada's contribution to the Society, a First Nation that has Traditional Territory, within the Project Area; and
(iii) for the purposes of British Columbia's contribution to the Society, a First Nation that has signed a Land Use Planning Agreement or treaty respecting some or all of its Traditional Territory, within the Project Area.
Examples of Participating First Nation in a sentence
A participating First Nation may establish a Local Education Authority, in accordance with the Agreement, to support it in the exercise of its powers, including the power to make First Nation laws.
A participating First Nation must provide or make provision for education for students to the extent provid- ed by the Agreement.
A participating First Nation may, with one or more participating First Nations, establish a Regional Education Council, in accordance with the Agreement, to support the coordination and delivery of education.
