Pipes and appurtenances means pipes, pipelines, manholes, valves, appurtenances and service connections necessary or convenient for the operation of said pipes or pipelines, including conduits, cathodic protection devices, wires, cables, other appurtenances and fiber optic communications systems necessary or convenient for the exercise of the Grantee’s business in, upon, along, across, under or over those streets of the City which are described in the attached Exhibit “A” which is incorporated by reference.

  • Underground area means an underground room, such as a basement, cellar, shaft or vault, providing enough space for physical inspection of the exterior of the tank situated on or above the surface of the floor.
