Prayer definition

Prayer means a communication (written or audible) with a deity, including, but not limited to, a benediction, an invocation, the Lord's Prayer, or otherwise calling upon a deity to offer guidance, assistance, or a blessing. Accordingly, “Prayer” does not include customary, polite expressions and greetings, including “God Bless You” or “Thank Heavens,” or a student’s religious expression responsive to a legitimate academic class assignment.
