Qualified Domestic Partner definition

Qualified Domestic Partner. (If Applicable) means the following:
Qualified Domestic Partner means a person who is in a domestic partnership that meets the criteria of California Family Code Section 297 and is formalized through registration with the California Secretary of State pursuant to California Family Code Sections 197 et. seq and/or CITY domestic partners registered with the Human Resources Department prior to July 8, 2014.
Qualified Domestic Partner means a Domestic Partner that is in a Qualified Domestic Partnership with Subscriber.

Examples of Qualified Domestic Partner in a sentence

  • Your spouse or registered domestic partner is considered an Eligible Spouse or Qualified Domestic Partner if you have been continuously married or regis- tered as a Qualified Domestic Partner at least two years prior to the date of your death and are married to that spouse or registered to that Qualified Do- mestic Partner at the time of your death, and your spouse or Qualified Domes- tic Partner is at least 55 years old.

  • If you do not have an Eligible Spouse or Qualified Domestic Partner, the 60 percent continuancemay be paid to your Eligible Child upon your death.

  • If you do not have an Eligible Spouse, Qualified Domestic Partner or Eligible Child at the time of your death, your designated beneficiary will receive a lump sum refund of any of your remaining member contributions.

  • For certain death benefits your Eligible Spouse or Qualified Domestic Partner must be listed as your beneficiary at the time of your death.

  • Coverage for your new Qualified Domestic Partner and any eligible Dependent children of the Qualified Domestic Partner will then begin on the first day of the month after the beginning of the partnership.


More Definitions of Qualified Domestic Partner

Qualified Domestic Partner means the domestic partner of an employee, both of whom meet the following criteria: 1) are aged 18 or older; 2) are not legally married to each other or any other person; 3) have chosen to live together in a committed relationship; 4) prior to the U.S. Supreme Court decision of June 26, 2015 which legalized same sex marriage in all 50 states, were not legally allowed to marry in the state in which they resided; and 5) have agreed to be jointly responsible for living expenses incurred during the domestic partnership. Further, a qualified domestic partner shall have been identified by the employee partner in an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership on file with the District Benefits Office prior to June 26, 2015. See Appendix L1 and L2.
