Reclaimed land surface definition

Reclaimed land surface means affected land which has been backfilled, graded, contoured, and revegetated in accordance with an approved reclamation plan.

  • Groundwater means all water, which is below the surface of the ground in the saturation zone and in direct contact with the ground or subsoil.

  • Water Surface Elevation (WSE means the height, in relation to NAVD 1988, of floods of various magnitudes and frequencies in the floodplains of riverine areas.

  • Soil means all unconsolidated mineral and organic material of any origin.

  • Water surface elevation means the height, in relation to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929, the North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988, or other datum, where specified, of floods of various magnitudes and frequencies in the floodplains of riverine areas.

  • Said Land shall have the meaning ascribed to such term in Paragraph I above and which is more fully and particularly described in the First Schedule written hereunder and delineated and demarcated in Annexure – A hereto;

  • Invasive plant species means species of plants not historically found in California that spread outside cultivated areas and can damage environmental or economic resources. Invasive species may be regulated by county agricultural agencies as noxious species. Lists of invasive plants are maintained at the California Invasive Plant Inventory and USDA invasive and noxious weeds database.

  • Land means the land described in Exhibit A.

  • Water conservation means the preservation and careful management of water resources.

  • Contaminated site means a site where there is a confirmed presence, caused by man, of hazardous substances of such a level that they pose a significant risk to human health or the environment taking into account current and approved future use of the land;

  • Area of shallow flooding means a designated AO or AH Zone on a community's Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) with one percent or greater annual chance of flooding to an average depth of one to three feet where a clearly defined channel does not exist, where the path of flooding is unpredictable and indeterminate; and where velocity flow may be evident. Such flooding is characterized by ponding or sheet flow.

  • Contaminated soil means soil that meets all of the following criteria:

  • Plant Site (Works, Factory) means the local integration of one or more plants, with any intermediate administrative levels, which are under one operational control, and includes common infrastructure, such as:

  • Mine means to carry on an operation with a view to, or for the purpose of—

  • Invasive species means an alien species whose introduction does or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health.

  • Subsurface Borings and Testing means borings, probings and subsurface explorations, laboratory tests and inspections of samples, materials and equipment; appropriate professional interpretations of all the foregoing.

  • Surface water means all water which is open to the atmosphere and subject to surface runoff.

  • Mine drainage means any drainage, and any water pumped or siphoned, from an active mining area or a post-mining area. The abbreviation “ml/l” means milliliters per liter.

  • impermeable surface means a surface or pavement constructed and maintained to a standard sufficient to prevent the transmission of liquids beyond the pavement surface, and should be read in conjunction with the term “sealed drainage system” (below).

  • Surface waters means all waters of the state as defined in G.S. 143-212 except underground waters

  • conservation area means the areas of the mineral lease within the solid black boundaries on Plan E being respectively the reserves known as ‘Xxxx’ ‘Serpentine’ and ‘Monadnock’, and parts of the reserve known as ‘Lane‑Xxxxx’;

  • Subsurface tracer study means the release of a substance tagged with radioactive material for the purpose of tracing the movement or position of the tagged substance in the well-bore or adjacent formation.

  • Submerged lands means those lands which are inundated by water on a seasonal or more frequent basis.

  • Aquifer means a geologic formation, group of formations, or part of a formation capable of yielding a significant amount of groundwater to wells or springs.

  • Covered Species means the species for which the Bank has been established and for which Credits have been allocated as set forth in Exhibit F-1.

  • Excavate or "excavation" means ditching, dredging, or mechanized removal of earth, soil or rock.

  • Accessible surface means surface of equipment or of an equipment part that can be easily or accidentally touched by persons without the use of a tool.
