Relevant Legislation means Legislation in force in any jurisdiction where any part of the Activity may be carried out;

Independent Legal Counsel means an attorney or firm of attorneys, selected in accordance with the provisions of Section 1(c) hereof, who shall not have otherwise performed services for the Company or Indemnitee within the last three years (other than with respect to matters concerning the rights of Indemnitee under this Agreement, or of other indemnitees under similar indemnity agreements).
Relevant Law means all legislation, codes of practice, standards, guidelines and regulations (in each case having the force of law) together with all applicable regulations and rules (including the Event Rules) applicable to the subject matter (whether obligations, goods or services) in question;
Relevant Laws means any statute, regulation, bylaw, ordinance or subordinate legislation which is in force for the time being to which a party is subject; the common law as applicable to the parties (or any one of them); any binding court order, judgment or decree applicable to the parties (or any one of them); and any applicable industry code, policy, guidance, standard or accreditation terms (i) enforceable by law which is in force for the time being, and/or (ii) stipulated by any regulatory authority to which a party is subject, in each case, for the time being;
Awarding Authority means a subordinate or component entity or person of the City (such as a City department or Board of Commissioners) that has the authority to enter into a contract or agreement for the provision of goods or services on behalf of the City of Los Angeles.
Supine restraint means the restraint of a student in a face-up position on the student’s back on the floor or another surface and with physical pressure applied to the body of the student to keep the student in the supine position.
Reviewing Authority means the Alberta Securities Commission.

Appropriate State Legislation means the State Employment and Skills Development Authority Act 1990.
Applicable Legal Requirements means all laws, statutes, ordinances, codes, orders, principles of common law, permits, judgments, directives and other requirements imposed by federal, state, municipal and other governmental authorities having competent jurisdiction over the subject matter, including, without limitation, applicable environmental laws.
Bribery Legislation means the Bribery Act 2010 and any subordinate legislation made under it from time to time together with any guidance or codes of practice issued by the government concerning the legislation;
the Directive means Council Directive 2003/4/EC(d) on public access to environmental information and repealing Council Directive 90/313/EEC;
EMU Legislation means the legislative measures of the European Council for the introduction of, changeover to or operation of a single or unified European currency.
British Protected Person means a member of any class of persons declared to be British Protected Persons by Order in Council under the British Nationality Act 1981, or by virtue of the Solomon Islands Act 1978.
Physical restraint means bodily force used to substantially limit a student’s movement, except that consensual, solicited, or unintentional contact and contact to provide comfort, assistance, or instruction shall not be deemed to be physical restraint.
GST Legislation means A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Xxx 0000 (Cth) and any related tax imposition act (whether imposing tax as a duty of customs excise or otherwise) and includes any legislation which is enacted to validate recapture or recoup the tax imposed by any of such acts.
previous planning legislation means any planning legislation that is repealed by the Act or the provincial legislation;
Bribery means the act of unduly offering, giving, receiving or soliciting anything of value to influence the process of procuring goods or services, selecting consultants, or executing contracts.
Foreign Government Scheme or Arrangement has the meaning specified in Section 5.12(d).
Relevant Conviction means a conviction that is relevant to the nature of the Services or as listed by the Authority and/or relevant to the work of the Authority.
Competent Court of Law means any court or tribunal or any similar judicial or quasi- judicial body in India that has jurisdiction to adjudicate upon issues relating to this Agreement;
Competent means the ability of an offeror to satisfy the requirements of the solicitation. This determination is based on a comprehensive assessment of each offeror's proposal including consideration of the specific areas of evaluation criteria in the relative order of importance described in the solicitation.
appropriate Government means the Central Government;
Court of competent jurisdiction means a federal court, or a state court that entered an order in a child custody proceeding involving an Indian child, as long as the state court had proper subject matter jurisdiction in accordance with this chapter and the laws of that state, or a tribal court that had or has exclusive or concurrent jurisdiction pursuant to 25 U.S.C. Sec. 1911.
