Residential strength wastewater definition

Residential strength wastewater means septic tank effluent that does not typically exceed five-day biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) of 300 mg/L; total suspended solids (TSS) of 150 mg/L; total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN) of 150 mg/L; oil & grease of 25 mg/L; or concentrations or quantities of other contaminants normally found in residential sewage.
Residential strength wastewater means effluent from a septic tank or other treatment device with a BOD5 less than or equal to 300 mg/L, TSS less than or equal to 150 mg/L, and fats, oils, and grease less than or equal to 25 mg/L.
Residential strength wastewater means the primary sewage effluent from a septic tank that does not exceed the following parameters: Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) of 300 mg/L; Total Suspended Solids (TSS) of 150 mg/L; Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) of 150 mg/L; and Oil & Grease of 25 mg/L. Other contaminants may also be present in the wastewater, however, they shall not exceed the concentrations or quantities normally found in residential sewage. Effluent parameters are to be measured using approved Standard Method or EPA procedures.
