Rules for the Use of Force definition

Rules for the Use of Force means the rules under which the Security Personnel shall act as set out in Annex B (Rules for the Use of Force) and in accordance with Clause 8 (Master’s Authority and Division of Responsibilities).

Examples of Rules for the Use of Force in a sentence

  • All employees must meet the weapons qualification requirements on the requested weapon(s) established by any DoD or other U.S. government agency, Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC); Rules for the Use of Force (RUF), as defined in the U.S. CENTCOM Policy, dated 23 December 2005; and distinction between the above-prescribed RUF and the Rules of Engagement (ROE), which are applicable only to military forces.

  • There must be a clear understanding of the authority of the Master and the Rules for the Use of Force (RUF) under which the PCASP operate.

  • The CPS have also advised that there should be a point in time when it is clear that a decision has been made to the effect that the use of force MAY be used to deal with an escalating or existing threat and that the Rules for the Use of Force are invoked.
