Signable area definition

Signable area of the building means an area of the facade of the building which is free of windows, doors, and major architectural detail. The percentage figures shown in the Table are based on the signable area. The following provisions apply in calculating the graphic area:
Signable area means the area(s) of a building facade where signs may be placed without disrupting facade composition. Signable Area will often include panels at the top of window or transoms, over entry doors and windows, sign boards on fascia and areas between the support portion of a buildings 1st story and the sills of 2nd story windows.
Signable area means the display surface of a sign encompassed within a single continuous perimeter, which encloses the extreme limits of the display face of that graphic.
