Sprinkler fitter definition

Sprinkler fitter means a qualified person to oversee:
Sprinkler fitter. Fire Protection Worker means a fitter/worker who can undertake all work in connection with preparing, erecting, fitting, fixing, commissioning, altering, overhauling, repairing or testing of apparatus, pipes and/or fittings including the fixing and connecting of tanks, valves, water supplies, pumps, gauges, or alarms for systems for the detection, extinguishment and/or control of fires and/or all pipes and/or fittings for conveyance of water, air and/or gas and/or chemical compounds and/or pipes and fittings for hydrant and hose reel services.
Sprinkler fitter means a person other than an apprentice who is registered with the administrator and who installs fire suppression systems. "Sprinkler fitter" does not include a person who performs maintenance and repair on fire suppression systems as a part of his or her employment. A sprinkler fitter does not include a person who performs work exclusively on cross-connection control devices or a person who performs work exclusively on an underground system. "Sprinkler fitter" does not include a person performing work on his or her own home.

  • Must be licensed, certified and/or registered as a Master Plumber, Journeyman Plumber, Journeyman Pipefitter, Master Pipefitter, Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter, Master Sprinkler fitter, Journeyman Lawn Irrigation Installer or a Master Lawn Irrigation Installer under the foregoing provisions of this Code.

  • Except as otherwise provided in this Code, no person shall install, undertake to install or hold himself/herself out as being available for the installation of backflow prevention devices appurtenant to fire suppression systems, unless he/she shall be a licensed Journeyman Sprinkler fitter or a Licensed and Bonded Master Sprinkler Fitter pursuant to this Code.
