STEMI Patient definition

STEMI Patient means a patient with symptoms of myocardial infarction in association with ST-Segment Elevation in an ECG.

  • HOSPITAL shall provide STEMI Receiving Center Services to any STEMI Patient that comes to the emergency department of HOSPITAL, regardless of the STEMI Patient’s ability to pay physician fees and/or hospital costs.

  • Any failure to provide timely surgical and non-surgical physician coverage for STEMI Patients, causing unnecessary risk of mortality and/or morbidity for the STEMI Patient.

  • The SRH will forward (with the STEMI Patient or by electronic means) copies of those portions of the medical record of the STEMI Patient that are relevant to the transfer and continued care of the STEMI Patient, including copies of records related to the STEMI Patient’s condition, observations of signs or symptoms, preliminary diagnosis, treatment provided and results of tests and procedures.

  • The Receiving Hospital will maintain policies for the acknowledgement and inventory of any STEMI Patient valuables transported with the STEMI Patient.

  • If the STEMI Patient is an inpatient, the SRH will (i) comply with applicable contractual, statutory and regulatory obligations that might exist between the STEMI Patient and his/her health plan or designated provider; and (ii) recognize the right of the STEMI Patient to transfer to the SRC and/or physician of his/her choice.

  • The SRH and Transferring Physician shall determine that the STEMI Patient is appropriate for transfer under this Agreement in accordance with applicable Federal or State laws and regulations regarding patient transfers, the STEMI Policy and the transfer policies of the SRH.


More Definitions of STEMI Patient

STEMI Patient means a person evaluated by prehospital, physician, nursing, or other clinical personnel according to the policies and procedures established by EMS Agency, as may be amended from time to time, and been found to require STEMI Receiving Center Services.

  • Hospice patient s family" means a hospice patient's immediate family members, including a spouse, brother, sister, child, or parent, and any other relative or individual who has significant personal ties to the patient and who is designated as a member of the patient's family by mutual agreement of the patient, the relative or individual, and the patient's interdisciplinary team.

  • In-patient means a person admitted to a hospital as a resident or bed- patient and who is provided at least one day's room and board by the hospital.

  • Antipsychotic medications means that class of drugs

  • Day Patient means an Insured Person receiving Medical Services or treatments given in a medical clinic, day case procedure centre or Hospital where the Insured Person is not in Confinement.

  • Licensed mental health professional or "LMHP" means a physician, licensed clinical psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner, licensed marriage and family therapist, certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist, licensed behavior analyst, or licensed psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner.

  • Medical cannabis pharmacy means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.

  • Naturopathic physician means a person licensed to practice naturopathic medicine by the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine.

  • Anesthesiologist means a physician granted clinical privileges to administer anesthesia.

  • Patient means a person who is undergoing medical or other treatment as an in-patient in any hospital or similar institution;

  • Nursing home-type patients means a patient who has been in hospital more than 35 days, no longer requires acute hospital care, cannot live independently at home or be looked after at home, and either cannot be placed in a nursing home or a nursing home place is not available.

  • In Patient Care means treatment for which the insured person has to stay in a hospital for more than 24 hours for a covered event.

  • Prosthesis means an artificial substitute for a missing body part.

  • HIV means human immunodeficiency virus.

  • Nursing diagnosis means a judgment made by a registered nurse, following a nursing assessment of individuals and groups about actual or potential responses to health problems, which forms the basis for determining effective nursing interventions.

  • Psychotropic medication means medication the prescribed intent of which is to affect or alter thought processes, mood, or behavior including but not limited to anti-psychotic, antidepressant, anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), and behavior medications. The classification of a medication depends upon its stated, intended effect when prescribed.

  • Routine patient care costs means Covered Medical Expenses which are typically provided absent a clinical trial and not otherwise excluded under the Policy. Routine patient care costs do not include:

  • Medical marijuana product means a product that contains cannabinoids that have been extracted from plant material or the resin therefrom by physical or chemical means and is intended for administration to a licensed patient, including but not limited to concentrates, oils, tinctures, edibles, pills, topical forms, gels, creams, and other derivative forms, except that this term does not include live plant forms.

  • Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.

  • Patients means both Public Patients and the Private Patients (referred by private doctors/private hospitals);

  • Behavioral therapy means interactive therapies derived from evidence-based research, including applied behavior analysis, which includes discrete trial training, pivotal response training, intensive intervention programs, and early intensive behavioral intervention.

  • Collaborative drug therapy management means participation by an authorized pharmacist and a physician in the management of drug therapy pursuant to a written community practice protocol or a written hospital practice protocol.

  • Medical cannabis means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.

  • Clinical nurse specialist means a registered nurse with relevant post-basic qualifications and 12 months’ experience working in the clinical area of his/her specified post-basic qualification, or a minimum of four years’ post-basic registration experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field and who satisfies the local criteria.

  • Veterinarian means a veterinarian authorized by law to practice veterinary medicine in this State.

  • Respiratory care practitioner means an individual who practices respiratory care.
