Subject Member definition

Subject Member means an elected member or co-opted member of the County Council against whom a complaint has been made alleging a breach the Code of Conduct.
Subject Member has the meaning set forth in Section 4.1(d).
Subject Member means the member of the authority who is the subject of the allegation being considered by the standards committee, unless stated otherwise. It also includes the member’s nominated representative.

Examples of Subject Member in a sentence

  • The hearing will be held in public no earlier than 14 working days after the Monitoring Officer has copied the Investigating Officer’s final report to the complainant and the Subject Member.

  • At any other stage of the complaints process under these Arrangements, the Independent Person may be consulted by the Monitoring Officer and/or the Subject Member.

  • However, in exceptional circumstances, it may be appropriate to keep the Complainant’s identity confidential or not disclose details of the complaint to the Subject Member during the early stages of an investigation.

  • The Subject Member has the option to request that details of the complaint and outcome be published on the Council’s website.

  • An example might be where it is considered that the Subject Member requires training on the Code of Conduct for Members and/or the Authority’s procedures.


More Definitions of Subject Member

Subject Member means a member who has been named in a complaint filed under bylaw 6.11.
