Supervising anesthesiologist definition

Supervising anesthesiologist means an anesthesiologist who is responsible for supervising the Anesthesiologist Assistant in providing anesthesia services. A Supervising Anesthesiologist must be licensed by the Board, actively engaged in clinical practice as an anesthesiologist, and immediately available onsite to provide assistance to the Anesthesiologist Assistant.
Supervising anesthesiologist means a South Carolina licensed physician currently possessing an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in South Carolina who practices in the medical specialty of anesthesiology and has successfully completed a residency in anesthesiology, approved by the Accreditation Committee on Graduate Medical Education, American Osteopathic Association, or its equivalent or successor.
Supervising anesthesiologist means “an active physician licensed and in good standing in this State, or a resident anesthesiologist working in an academic environment, who is certified as an anesthesiologist by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or its successor, and who supervises one or more anesthesiology assistants.” (emphasis added)
