Supervisory Control definition

Supervisory Control means the capability to curtail, in accordance with applicable RERRA requirements, load registered as Price Responsive Demand at each PRD Substation identified in the relevant PRD Plan or PRD registration in response to a Maximum Generation Emergency declared by the Office of the Interconnection. Except to the extent automation is not required by the provisions of the Operating Agreement, the curtailment shall be automated, meaning that load shall be reduced automatically in response to control signals sent by the PRD Provider or its designated agent directly to the control equipment where the load is located without the requirement for any action by the end-use customer.
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) shall mean a system that provides data acquisition, supervisory control and alarm display and control from remote field locations to control centers.
Supervisory Control or “SCADA” means remote monitoring and/or control of a Generating Facility’s power output and interrupting device status by means of a communication channel that is acceptable to the Company.
