Teaching Interns definition

Teaching Interns means persons recommended by the University, possessing a certificate of clearance and an Internship Credential, who have been approved to engage in paid teaching services under the supervision of a regularly-credentialed employee of the District and a University supervisor. The University reserves the right to issue or deny the preliminary teaching credential at the end of the internship experience. Either the District or the University may remove the teaching intern for unsatisfactory performance.

  • XXX shall identify an individual who is immediately available to assist Teaching Interns through in-classroom modeling and coaching as needed with: planning lessons that are appropriately designed and differentiated for English Learners (ELs); assessing language needs and progress of ELs; and supporting language accessible instruction.

  • Teaching Interns who assume daily teaching responsibilities after the beginning of a school year shall be provided the following minimum hours of combined University/LEA mentoring and supervision: four hours times the number of instructional weeks remaining in the school year.

  • The University shall also require Teaching Interns to carry professional liability insurance as a requirement of its program.

  • Teaching hospital means a hospital that trains students to become physicians, nurses, or other health or laboratory personnel.

  • Teaching Experience means full-time employment as a teacher in a public school, private school licensed or accredited by the State Board of Education, or institution of higher education,

  • Academic year means the period of twelve months beginning on 1st January, 1st April, 1st July or 1st September according to whether the course in question begins in the winter, the spring, the summer or the autumn respectively but if students are required to begin attending the course during August or September and to continue attending through the autumn, the academic year of the course is to be considered to begin in the autumn rather than the summer;

  • Clinical psychologist means a person who practices clinical psychology as defined in § 54.1-3600.

  • Service-disabled veteran-owned business means a service-disabled veteran-owned business located in the State of Tennessee that satisfies the criteria in Tenn. Code. Ann. § 12-3-1102(8). "Service-disabled veteran" means any person who served honorably in active duty in the armed forces of the United States with at least a twenty percent (20%) disability that is service-connected, i.e., the disability was incurred or aggravated in the line of duty in the active military, naval or air service.
