Critical Illness definition

Critical Illness or “CI” means Diagnosis of any of the following Covered Conditions which occur directly as a result of illness, and first occur after the Effective Date of Insurance:
Critical Illness means an illness, sickness or a disease or a corrective measure like Cancer of specified severity, Open Chest CABG, Aorta Graft Surgery, Open Heart Replacement or Repair of Heart Valves, Stroke Resulting in Permanent Symptoms, First Heart Attack – Of Specified Severity, Kidney Failure Requiring Regular Dialysis, Primary Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, Major Organ/ Bone Marrow Transplant, Multiple Sclerosis with Persisting Symptoms, Coma of Specified Severity, Total Blindness and Permanent Paralysis of Limbs all as defined in Scope of Cover & Benefits section of this Policy.

Examples of Critical Illness in a sentence

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to an employee under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, as amended.

  • Employees shall be responsible for the payment of all premiums for Critical Illness insurance, and such premiums shall be deducted from each employee’s wages.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave granted to an employee under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.

  • These include but are not limited to Domestic Violence Leave, Critical Illness of a Child Leave, Disappearance or Death of a Child Leave and Organ Donation Leave.

  • Effective November 1, 2011 or such reasonable time thereafter as may be required, a Critical Illness Insurance will be made available to employees with the full premiums to be paid by the employees.


More Definitions of Critical Illness

Critical Illness means illness shall include either the diagnosis of any of the illnesses or performance of any of the covered surgeries as given in section I C) of Annexure K, subject to exclusion as given in section II C) of Annexure K. Annexure K forms part of this Policy Document.
Critical Illness means a deterioration of health or bodily disorder which, while the individual's insurance is in force, leads to an initial Diagnosis of one of the illnesses or medical conditions covered under the insurance or to a covered surgery, according to the following list of Critical Illnesses. In addition, for the Diagnosed illness to be recognized as a Critical Illness for the purposes of the plan, the Diagnosis must be made by a Specialist and confirm that it meets the criteria indicated in the "Definitions of Covered Illnesses" section. For any covered surgery, a Specialist must confirm that it is medically necessary.
Critical Illness means illness the signs or symptoms of which first commence more than ninety (90) days following the Date of Commencement of Risk or the date of latest revival (if any), whichever is the latest, and shall include either the first diagnosis of any of the illnesses or first performance of any of the covered surgeries as given in section I C) of Annexure K, subject to exclusion as given in section II C) of Annexure K. Annexure K forms part of this Policy Document.
Critical Illness means an illness, sickness or a disease or a corrective measure as specified in Section 1 of this Policy.
Critical Illness means Your first time Diagnosis with any of the critical illnesses or Your undergoing any of the surgeries for the first time as specified in Annexure 4 to this Policy.
Critical Illness means Your first time Diagnosis with any of the following illnesses or any of Your following surgeries for the first time, provided You survived for at least 30 (Thirty) days from the date of such Diagnosis or the date of such surgery:
Critical Illness means a serious medical condition listed on the Schedule of Benefits and defined in the Benefit Provisions section of the Policy.
