Tourism development definition

Tourism development means the acquisition and construction of, and financing and retirement of debt for, facilities related to tourism; and
Tourism development means planning and implementation of strategies, infrastructure or other projects deemed appropriate by the Council with the objective to develop the tourism sector to increase the attractiveness of a destination and thereby attract more tourists.
Tourism development means increasing the instances of travel by persons to Thunder Bay for pleasure or business. To meet the definition, the idea, concept or project for development must do one or more of the following:

  • Research and development means (1) theoretical analysis, exploration, or experimentation; or (2) the extension of investigative findings and theories of a scientific or technical nature into practical application for experimental and demonstration purposes, including the experimental production and testing of models, devices, equipment, materials, and processes.
