Unprofessional Behavior definition

Unprofessional Behavior means conduct that a reasonable person would find offensive or that is disruptive to the workplace or to safe patient care. Unprofessional Behavior includes any action that negatively impacts the capacity of the health care team to function according to acceptable and customary standards of cohesion, respect, effective communication, patient/family focus, quality and safety. Unprofessional Behavior may be written, oral or behavioral and may include, but is not limited to:
Unprofessional Behavior means behavior or language that is at variance with the generally accepted professional ethics of the academic community, and includes but is not limited to intimidating or disruptive behavior, harassment, verbal outbursts or physical threats, passive aggressive behaviors such as refusal to perform tasks assigned by supervisors or persistent refusal to answer reasonable questions or return calls or emails without justification, or use of rude or condescending tone or language. Unprofessional behavior does not include honest error or differences of opinion.

  • Paraprofessional means a person who does not have an academic degree related to the scope of treatment or support services being provided but performs prescribed functions under the general supervision of that discipline.

  • Unprofessional conduct means the same as that term is defined in Sections 58-1-501 and 58-17b-502 and may be further defined by rule.
