Unsecured Health Information definition

Unsecured Health Information means unsecured PHI as set forth in 45 CFR § 164.402, as amended from time to time, and currently means Health Information that has not been rendered unusable, unreadable or indecipherable to unauthorized individuals through the use of a technology or methodology specified by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Unsecured Health Information means Protected Health Information that is not rendered unusable, unreadable, or indecipherable to unauthorized individuals through the use of a technology or methodology specified by the Secretary in the guidance issued under Section 13402(h)(2) of Public Law 111-5 (HITECH Act) on the HHS website.
