U.S. Securities System definition

U.S. Securities System means a securities depository or book-entry system authorized by the U.S. Department of the Treasury or a “clearing corporation” as defined in Section 8-102 of the UCC.
U.S. Securities System means a Clearance System located within the United States and that is in compliance with the conditions of Rule 17f-4 under the Investment Company Act.
U.S. Securities System means a U.S.-based clearing agency registered with the SEC under Section 17A, which acts as a securities depository, or a book-entry system authorized by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and certain federal agencies. (ee) "U.S. SECURITIES SYSTEM ACCOUNT" shall mean an account of the Custodian in a U.S. Securities System, provided that such account shall not include any assets of the Custodian other than assets held as a fiduciary, custodian or otherwise for customers. Examples of U.S. Securities System in a sentence

  • Upon receipt of Proper Instructions on behalf of a Portfolio, the Custodian shall establish and maintain a segregated account or accounts for and on behalf of the Portfolio and into which account or accounts may be transferred cash or securities and other financial assets, including securities and financial assets maintained in a U.S. Securities System.

  • The Custodian shall release and deliver out domestic securities and other financial assets of a Portfolio held in a U.S. Securities System, or in an account at the Underlying Transfer Agent, only upon receipt of Proper Instructions on behalf of the applicable Portfolio, specifying the domestic securities or financial assets held in the United States to be delivered out and the person or persons to whom delivery is to be made.

  • The Custodian may deposit and maintain securities or other financial assets of a Portfolio in a U.S. Securities System in compliance with the conditions of Rule 17f-4 under the 1940 Act.

  • The Custodian shall hold and physically segregate for the account of each Portfolio all securities and other financial assets held by the Custodian in the United States, including all domestic securities of the Portfolio, other than (a) securities or other financial assets maintained in a U.S. Securities System and (b) Underlying Shares maintained pursuant to Section 3.6 in an account of an Underlying Transfer Agent.
